Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. If you expect to arrive outside this window, please let us know in advance so we can make arrangements.

Check-out: 11:00 AM.

Breakfast

A four-course gourmet breakfast is served at 9:00 AM daily in the grand dining room. Breakfast is included with every stay.

If you have dietary restrictions or food allergies, please discuss them with us before booking so we can accommodate your needs.

Cancellation Policy

Plans change — we understand. As a small inn with limited rooms, a last-minute cancellation means we lose the chance to welcome other guests, so our policy asks for notice. We appreciate your understanding.

Cancellations made 15 or more days before arrival receive a refund of the deposit, less a $50 fee per room.

Cancellations made 14 days or less before arrival: we convert 75% of what you have paid into a stay credit, good for any night over the next 12 months. We’d rather welcome you later than not at all.

October stays, special event packages, and group reservations follow a 30-day cancellation window and are excluded from stay credits. These reservations are refundable if cancelled 30 or more days before arrival, less a $50 fee per room; cancellations within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable.

Stay credits are not redeemable for cash. Once a credit is redeemed toward a stay, it cannot be moved or refunded.

Single-Night Stays

Weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods generally carry a two-night minimum, so single-night availability online may be limited. We can often accommodate a single night — call us at (828) 258-1111 and we’ll do our best to find you a room.

Discounts of any kind (return guest, military, and similar) and gift certificates cannot be applied to single-night reservations.

Age Requirement

The Reynolds Mansion welcomes guests 16 years of age and older, accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Dog Policy

Dogs are welcome in our three Carriage House suites only — dogs are not permitted in the main Reynolds Residence or on its porches.

Dog fee: $40 per day plus applicable taxes. Weight limit: 35 lbs. Current vaccination records are required seven days prior to check-in. Dogs must be leashed on the property grounds.

Smoking & Vaping

Smoking and vaping are not permitted indoors — this includes all guest rooms, common areas, and the porches of both the Reynolds Residence and the Carriage House. If you would like to smoke, please do so out in the garden, well away from the buildings. A $500 cleaning fee will be assessed for smoking in any prohibited area.

Parking

Free private off-street parking is available for all guests. Parking is at your own risk.

Payment

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and cash. Checks and American Express are not accepted.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates are valid for five years from the date of purchase and may be redeemed as payment toward the cost of any available room. Gift certificates are not redeemable from September 20 through the end of Thanksgiving week or during other peak-season periods. Gift certificates cannot be redeemed for cash.

Registered Guests

For the privacy and comfort of all guests, only registered guests are permitted on the property.

Winter Travel

If you are visiting between January and March, please be aware that winter weather in the mountains can be unpredictable. Heavy snow can occasionally make the mansion inaccessible. We recommend checking road conditions before your drive, and we are always happy to provide updates if you call ahead — if weather intervenes, we will always work with you to move your stay.

ADA Accessibility

The Reynolds Mansion is a pre-Civil War historic home listed on the National Register of Historic Places and protected under a preservation easement held by the local preservation authority. Due to the home's age and these preservation requirements, we are unable to add structural modifications. All guest rooms and common areas in the main house require stairs. If you have mobility concerns, please contact us before booking so we can discuss your needs and, if necessary, recommend accessible properties in the area.
